Using SEO tools and plugins. Adding alt text to images and videos so crawlers have something in place of the video. Keyword research. Used for search engines, when a user searches keywords in the search bar, different websites will pop up based on the different words used. SEO friendly URLs, URLs that are human readable are more important to search engines then those with numbers and weird strings in them.
What is web analytics and what does Google provide to support analytics?
Web analytics are things such as traffic, where they’re coming from, and who is browsing you page. Google provides a plugin for WordPress and also has a website for viewing these analytics.

- Yoast plugin, does all the backend SEO production from site maps to helping with meta data insertion.
- SiteSeo plugin, used for basic SEO optimization such as setting up an XML site map or notifying you how to improve SEO.
- Google Kit plugin helps with add, monetization, and analytics. A simple to use plugin designed by Google.
- Google Analytics is another important resource used together with Google Kit. Used for viewing traffic across sites you own and have google analytics installed on.
Which plugin(s) do you think you will use and why?
I’ll use Yoast and Google kit. I’m excited to try using google kit. I think it’ll be fun to see the small traffic that comes across this site. I’ll use Yoast for the class. I’ll also use the automatic antispam plugins. Also one that disables the search feature on the website.
